Disability Alliance Sunderland

The Advocacy Group.

An advocacy group of deaf and disabled people has been started in Sunderland.
If you have something to say and want a chance to say it then you will be welcome at this advocacy group.  Your Advocacy Group.

As members of this group we say, ‘’Yes We Can speak up for ourselves, each other and build strong voices together.’’

This independent group will be:

  • Confidential and safe
  • Where all disabled and deaf people can support each other and be confident.
  • Where we can talk about our options with someone who has been there
  • Be at the heart of our discussions with other disabled and deaf people
  • Where no-one else will tell us what to do.

So why not come along to our friendly meetings.
We meet in local, well known buildings that have easy access.
We make sure that we have induction loops and BSL / English interpreters
We can pay travel expenses for disabled and deaf people who attend the group.
There will always be refreshments & biscuits available at these meetings.
Friendly facilitators will be in attendance should you require them.

You can telephone and have a friendly chat first if you like.
You would be very welcome if you came along and became a member.
